Aspirations Index: Measure the Aspirations Ecosystem
Aspirations Ecosystem is a combination of tangible and intangible elements that a child grows up around and that influence their capacity to aspire, and in turn their educational, employment and life outcomes.
Using Amartya Sen’s Capability Approach, Aspirations Index is an econometric framework that measures the capacity to aspire of 10- to 24-year-olds in India. At the state level, this Index will assess and measure the existence and effectiveness of the Aspirations Ecosystem.
The first iteration of the Aspirations Index to be released in 2023
